Keys For Effective Treatment of Anxiety: Interoceptive Exposure and Safety Behaviors

Description
Join Dr. Jill Levitt, Director of Training at the Feeling Good Institute, for a fun and engaging webinar of learning, practice, and community building on Wednesday June 5th, 2024 12pm PT / 3pm EST - 1 CE unit.

Course Description:
Interoceptive exposure is an evidence-based technique that quickly and effectively helps patients with a range of anxiety conditions including panic attacks and panic disorder, health anxiety, chronic pain, and chronic dizziness. Since patients who struggle with anxiety often catastrophize and worry about their physical sensations, interoceptive exposure helps patients learn that the sensations associated with anxiety (e.g., racing heart, breathlessness, lightheadedness) are harmless, tolerable, and safe.

In this free 1 hour (1 CE) webinar you will learn how to use interoceptive exposure to help your patients overcome anxiety and panic attacks. You will also learn about the function of safety behaviors, and how to eliminate safety behaviors in order to maximize the effectiveness of exposure with all of your anxious patients.

Learning Objectives:
Following completion of the webinar, you will be able to:
1. Describe the rationale for interoceptive exposure.
2. Explain one way that safety behaviors interfere with effective exposure.

This is a live-streamed webinar. 100% attendance and completion of CE survey immediately after the webinar is required to receive your CE certificate of completion.

Can't attend live? A recording of the workshop will be posted to the webinar page for all who register. Please note that CEs can only be provided to those who attend live.
