CBT for Healthier Habits: Key Tools for Positive Change

Friday May 5th, 2023 8:30am-4:30pm PST - 7 CE units. Live Online.

Join best selling author and psychiatrist David Burns, M.D. along with Jill Levitt, Ph.D. for a fun day of learning, practice and community building. Learn tools to help your patients (and yourself) build healthier habits and overcome resistance to change. This workshop includes didactic teaching, live demonstrations, Q and A, and opportunities to practice new therapy techniques in small breakout groups with expert feedback so that you can walk away with new skills to help your patients - and yourself!

The vast majority of human beings, including therapists, struggle with habits and addictions including:
Overeating / binging
Poor eating habits: too many sweets, caffeine at night, fast food, junk food, etc.
Drinking too much
Internet surfing
Shopping too much
NOT exercising regularly
Poor sleep habits

Even when patients seek therapy for other problems, overcoming habits and addictions is often an essential part of successful treatment. In this workshop, you’ll learn a variety of state of the art techniques for overcoming habits and addictions, including:
Identifying positive distortions in tempting thoughts
The Triple Paradox Technique to assess motivation
The Problem-Solution List
The Five-Minute Rule
The Anti-Procrastination Sheet
The “I Stubbornly Refused” Technique to increase accountability
The Tic-Toc Technique
The Devil’s Advocate Technique to overcome temptation
Relapse Prevention Training
And more!

This is a live-streamed online one day workshop. 100% attendance and completion of the CE survey after the workshop is required to receive the CE certificate of completion.

Three days before the workshop, registrants will have access to the workshop materials through this online platform.
